Many of you have heard me talk about my brother-in-law, Robby, his wife Emily, and their amazing heart for adoption. After quite a few bumps in the road (read more of their story here), Robby and Emily were thrilled to find out that their application for adoption had been accepted and their son was to be born around the first week in September. Obviously, we have all been waiting with bated breath over the past few weeks in anticipation of the arrival of my nephew.
This past Thursday, Zach came into my class and said, “She had the baby!” Of course, I went into squeals of excitement and questions, all of which reached an even higher decibel when he added, “And it’s TWINS!” What?!?!?! How incredibly exciting is that?? Somehow, such a big piece of information didn’t show up on the ultrasound, so it took all of us by surprise. Needless to say, we are thrilled about the arrival of babies Moses Robert and Zane Abraham and can’t wait to meet them! Because it would be absolutely cruel to withhold such cuteness, here are a couple of pictures of the new family:
Robby, Emily, and the boys are in Utah right now. Both babies were very small (around 4 lbs each), and their size is causing a few complications. Zane has been diagnosed with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), which means his intestinal wall could rupture at any time. He has been taken to a different hospital where they are trying antibiotics. If the medicine doesn’t work, surgery would be required, as well as an extended hospital stay.
On top of the health concerns, Robby and Emily will also need to deal with the hospital bills associated with having two babies receiving special care, as well as the logistics of the surprise of two babies.
Please pray for Robby, Emily, Zane, and Moses. Pray for health for the boys, peace for Robby and Emily, and guidance as they move forward.
